
WHAT DOES NAFRA DO?
The National Fertilizer Regulatory Agency (NaFRA) is responsible for ensuring that all fertilizers and fertilizer products imported to Sierra Leone meet the minimum required standard of quality to protect farmers and the environment against hazard materials to farmers and to safeguard the interest of farmers against nutrients deficiencies, adulteration, misleading claims and short weight in Fertilizers.

OBJECTIVES, FUNCTIONS AND POWERS OF THE AGENCY
The objective of NaFRA is to manage the promotion and development of a competitive fertilizer subsector that ensures environmentally sustainable agricultural production through timely availability of appropriate quality of affordable fertilizer products with correct information on them. The Agency shall have responsibility to supervise, coordinate, administer, monitor, manage and regulate the importation, manufacture and distribution of fertilizers in Sierra Leone.

We build strategic relationships that foster meaningful; alliances and collaborations with institutions, agencies, organizations, and groups that share similar values of sound policy actions and credible accountability to the government and other key players in the fertilizer subsector to drive agricultural productivity for national development.
