We regulate and manage the importation, manufacturing, sale, and distribution of fertilizer in Sierra Leone.

1. WE ARE THE FERTILIZER REGULATORY BODY OF SIERRA LEONE.

The National Fertilizer Regulatory Agency (NaFRA) is a government institution established by an Act of Parliament in 2017 to regulate and manage fertilizer activities in Sierra Leone. Its mandate covers the commercial importation, manufacture, distribution, and management of fertilizers across the country.

2. WE ENSURE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF FERTILIZERS IN SIERRA LEONE

NaFRA ensures that fertilizers available in the Sierra Leonean market meet minimum quality and safety standards. This protects farmers from substandard or adulterated products and safeguards the environment from harmful inputs.

3. WE PROMOTE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY AND FOOD SECURITY

The agency works to develop a competitive fertilizer subsector that supports increased agricultural productivity, profitability, and national food security through proper fertilizer use and sustainable practices.

4. Regulating the Fertilizer Supply Chain

NaFRA supervises and coordinates the entire fertilizer value chain, including importers, manufacturers, distributors, agro-dealers, and retailers, to ensure compliance with national regulations and best practices.
